As you may know, Governor Inslee announced significant changes to the school re-opening guidelines yesterday afternoon. This update is informed by data demonstrating limited COVID-19 transmission rates in schools that follow strong health and safety protocols. Schools are now allowed to phase in on- campus learning if their county is within the new moderate transmission range of 50-350 new cases per 100,000. Our county is currently well within this range, we have the required health and safety measures in place, and we have been effective in maintaining a safe environment for our school community during this pandemic.
We are happy to announce that we have a new timeline for our phased-in return to campus. We will be transitioning back into our Back to School Plan following this new timeline. If COVID-19 numbers go above 350 per 100,000 in our county, then we will notify you of changes to our plan near the end of Christmas break.
· Monday, January 4th: No school; faculty work day (previously scheduled)
· Tuesday, January 5th: No school; faculty work day (new). This second day of prep work will allow our faculty and staff to enjoy their family time over break by having this time reserved for them to fully prepare for our return to on-campus learning.
· Wednesday, January 6th: Pre K-3 return to campus; grades 4-8 remain in virtual learning. Spartan Camp resumes for all currently registered camp students in grades 4-8 and remains open during the remainder of this week.
· Monday, January 11th: Spartan Camp closes and students in grades 4-8 return to campus. All grades will now be back on campus and following our health and safety protocols.
Have a very blessed, safe, and rewarding Christmas break with your children. We look forwarded to welcoming students back in the new year!
